Brenda Millicent León is an award-winning multimedia journalist based in New York City. She’s currently communications director at The Latinx Therapist Action Network.

She was previously a finance reporting fellow at The Wall Street Journal, covering markets. 

Brenda was previously a local reporter for Connecticut Public Radio, where she covered the Latine community in The Nutmeg state.  She was a Report for America member. Her work has appeared in WNPR, The Gothamist, NPR, 1 in 5 Podcast, The World, and other publications.

She holds an M.A. from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism with a concentration in bilingual journalism. Brenda graduated from CUNY Lehman College with a B.A. in broadcast journalism and political science. She speaks English and Spanish, some French and is learning Nahuatl. 

Her journalism-related interests include the economy, the racial wealth gap, race, identity, business, inequality, culture, housing, immigration, and Latin America. 

Non-journalism-related interests include performing in New York City, interpretation, poetry, and cooking.
